It’s been a busy month for Parris Island. On March 15th the 17th Annual Parris Island Sprint Triathlon took place and I’m proud to say I know some of the people who participated.  Congratulations to everyone!

Eugene Alvarez takes a moment from his book signing to pose for a picture with me.

Later that same day at the Parris Island Museum, John C. Stevens, III author of Court Martial at Parris Island, the Ribbon Creek Incident, and Eugene Alvarez author of Parris Island, Once a Recruit, Always a Marine were in the gift shop signing books.

Here I am with the members of Plt 217 who spent the day visiting Parris Island. A return to where it all began.

And on March 21, 2014 Milton Bice and some of the members of 2nd Battalion, Company L Platoon 217 toured Parris Island for the first time since they went through boot camp.   How fortunate I am to have met such a wonderful group of Marines.
