What To Take With You When You Visit Parris Island

    Packing Ideas

    Toiletry Bag Travel Bag with Hanging Hook

    I always take along a toiletry travel bag on my trips. They are perfect for keeping razors, eye drops, tweezers, and all of the other small items I need.

    Luggage

    Do you have luggage that is in good shape?  If not, you may want to invest in a new set.  There are so many brands and price ranges to choose from.  Look for lightweight luggage with wheels that spin in all directions.

    Luggage Tags

    Make sure you have luggage tags, especially for airline flights.

    Weekender Bag

    Taking a flight?  I always take along a carry on bag .  If I am traveling by car, I use my carryon for larger toiletries and things I need right away.

    Overnight Backpack

    Some people prefer backpacks for weekend trips. This one has multiple compartments, meets requirements for carry-on baggage and comes with three packing cubes.

    Large Clear Bag

    Consider buying a see through bag for your trip. Theses bags make it easier to go through security lines. Don't have time to buy one now? The PX usually stocks them.  They can be used for more than just getting through security lines.  Take one to the beach or pool.

    Clear Stadium Purse

    If you like the idea of taking a clear bag on your trip but you want something smaller, consider this smaller bag.

    Curling Iron

    I love my curling irons. Yes, I have more than one. They are so practical. Within minutes you can add bounce and volume to your hairstyle. My favorite is the Conair Infiniti Pro because of the way it looks (mine is aqua color) and because it can be set to various temperatures. But there are many styles and brands to choose from. Look for models that heat quickly, have an auto shut off and come with a heat guard.

    Check to see if the place you are staying has a hair dryer in the room. If they don't or you just like having your own, consider getting a travel dryer to take up less space in your suitcase.

    There are many brands and prices to choose from. This one had lots of good reviews.

    Sometimes you don't want all those different compartments. You just need a place to put the essentials so they don't roll around in your suitcase. In that case look for something like this shaving bag.

    Wet Brush Original Detangler Hair Brush

    My hairdresser had these brushes at the salon. I saw the pretty colors and had to have one. Now you can get them in many stores. This brush makes it easy to detangle my hair even when it is wet!

    Kenra Hair Spray

    The weather in Beaufort can be very humid, especially during the summer months. Hair spray is a must. I use Kenra because it holds my hair in place. Pack your favorite and be prepared for any weather.

    Tweezerman Mini Oval Slant and Point Combo Tweezers

    Tweezerman tweezers are simply the best. This set is small and will fit in your toiletry bag. They come in different colors, shapes and have a regular size too. My favorite type are the slanted tweezers.

    Travel Mirror

    I like to have a travel mirror so I can make sure my hair style looks good from all over. It's also useful to use up close when applying make-up or using tweezers.

    Make-up Remover

    I like these for travel because they won't spill or leak.

    Eye Shadow Applicators

    I always need new Eye Shadow applicators and these pretty colors come in a case!

    Cotton Rounds

    Cotton rounds are so much nicer than cotton balls.

    Travel Toothbrushes

    These toothbrushes fold up making them easy to pack.

    Skin So Soft Insect Repellent

    Skin so soft original is the product recommended to combat no see ums. It's so popular, Avon made a Skin So Soft insect repellent that is water resistant and contains sunscreen!

    Insect Repellent

    Bug spray is a must for outdoor activities. Pack a regular size in your suitcase and a travel size like this one so you are prepared.
