PI116: Five Amazon Products to Help Celebrate the 4th of July

Five Amazon Products to Help Celebrate the 4th of July

We love decorating our home for the 4th of July.  You probably do too, but if you don’t I hope these will inspire you.  These items will make your home red, white and bluetiful for the whole month of July.  That’s right, we don’t put up decorations just for the day.  We hang our flags out and let our bunting blow in the breeze all month long. You can too and you don’t have to be a member of a Marine family to join in on the fun.  While these products are available on-line, you can find many of them at the store, but if you do buy them through these links, ParrisIsland.com is an Amazon Affiliate and we will earn a small commission (at no cost to you),  when you purchase items through these links.  Thank you for supporting the site.

1. Bunting to hang from your porch railings, on your fence or in your window.  This brand of bunting is made out of Nylon.  They are water resistant and fade resistant which is very important, especially if you live here in the south.  It has brass grommets for hanging and should last a long time.  The product is made in the United States and measures 2 ft. X 4 ft.  Remember to measure the area you want to cover to make sure this is large enough.  Most of the reviewers who bought this size said it was smaller than they thought it would be.  If you have a large area to cover you may want it larger than 2×4.  There are other sizes available from different companies.

2.  Patriotic Tablecloths like the one shown make every day a holiday.  I love having a 4th of July table cloth on display when we have dinner guest but pretty designs like these make our every day family meals special.  The one pictured below is machine washable.  Make sure you check the description to see if the tablecloth is made out of plastic for outdoor use or something more durable that can be thrown in the washer and used over and over again.  I have 2 different styles to swap out during the month.  You can also add a matching table runner for a nearby table or on top of the tablecloth. Don’t forget to check the table size before you order.

Poppy flowers with red white and blue designs make this table cloth a winner for any 4th of July celebration.

3. Placemats keep your tablecloth clean for just a little longer than it would be with out them.  They also protect your table from condensation and spills.  I love to get some solid colors that I can use for multiple tablecloths. They come in all kinds of shapes and sizes.  We use the rectangular ones for our table settings and a circular one for the middle of the table.  You can add a flower arrangement or patriotic centerpiece for extra bling.  I have some that are made out of cloth and can be machine washed and some that are plastic.  Both look lovely and last a long time.   When buying online, I always check the measurements before purchasing.  The rectangular placemats I have are approximately 12.5″ x 18″.  I look for placemats that are close to what I already like.

4. An American Flag to hang outside on your porch is a must.  You can also get tiny flags for inside.  You will find flags in many sizes and made using different materials.  I like to look for machine washable, fade resistant fabrics so I can use them again and again. Before you fly your flag, check out flag etiquette from the Veterans of Foreign War site.

5.  Kitchen Towels decorated in red, white and blue bring the 4th of July activities into the heart of your home.

Kitchen towels for 4th of July Amazon works well for military families for a number of reasons: 1) I usually get my item in 2 or 3 days. 2) with a Prime membership I get free shipping on most of the items I buy, (actually I don’t buy it if I can’t get free shipping).  3) My Prime membership gives me access to free movies and books all year long.
Consider giving an Amazon Prime membership as a gift for your family members in the military.
